1. Overview

Markdown Table to Text is a browser-based tool for converting Markdown tables into plain-text table formats. This policy explains what information is handled when you use the website.

2. Markdown content you paste

The table conversion runs in your browser with client-side JavaScript. The Markdown text you paste into the converter is not uploaded to our server for conversion, storage, or review. Generated output stays in the browser too. We do not place your input or output in URL query strings, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, analytics events, feedback messages, or logs. The converter only accepts allow-listed preset and article example keys in the URL; arbitrary Markdown or output query values are ignored and removed.

3. What we do not collect

The converter is designed so tool content stays in the browser. In particular:

  • We do not collect pasted Markdown.
  • We do not collect generated output.
  • We do not store table cell content.
  • We do not include input or output in analytics events.
  • We do not include input or output in feedback events.
  • We do not use pasted content for training.
  • We do not save pasted Markdown or generated output in localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB.

4. Analytics

We use aggregate analytics, including Google Analytics and Cloudflare analytics, to understand site usage such as which pages are visited and how visitors find the site. This helps us improve examples, guides, and tool usability. Analytics providers may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies. We do not send pasted Markdown, generated output, clipboard contents, diagnostics text, or table contents as analytics event parameters. Our Google Analytics page-view configuration uses a canonical URL without query-string content.

5. Advertising

We may use Google AdSense to display advertising on eligible content pages. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services at Google's partner sites policy. Ad scripts are not used to perform conversion and are not given the Markdown you paste or the text output you generate. The converter homepage does not load the AdSense script. Eligible content pages may also make Google ad quality or anti-abuse requests; those requests are not given pasted Markdown, generated output, or table cell content.

6. Feedback

The lightweight feedback controls on the converter may send an anonymous event so we can understand whether the output was useful. Feedback events are limited to the feedback type, an optional issue category, selected output style, browser family, viewport type, timestamp, and an anonymous session ID. They do not include pasted Markdown, generated output, table cell text, file names, clipboard contents, diagnostics text, or custom document content from URLs.

7. Local storage

We may store UI preferences locally in your browser, such as the selected output style, preferred copy mode, and whether the result health summary is expanded. We do not store pasted Markdown or generated output.

The converter does not use localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB to save table cell content, file names, clipboard content, diagnostics text, pasted Markdown, or generated output. Feedback may use sessionStorage for an anonymous session ID so duplicate events from the same browser session can be grouped. That ID is random and is not derived from your Markdown or generated output.

8. Offline caching

md2text may use a service worker to cache the app shell so the converter can reopen after you have visited it. Offline caching stores app assets only, not pasted Markdown or generated output. It does not store clipboard contents, table cell content, diagnostics text, file names, or feedback messages.

9. Third-party links

Some pages link to external policy references. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.

11. Contact

For feedback, bug reports, or privacy questions, use the feedback form on this site or contact: support@md2text.com. Do not include sensitive Markdown, generated output, or table cell content in email or feedback.
